Webtrends Optimize are now a corporate sponsor of Sussex Cricket, with our logo sitting pride of place across the 24m x 2m pavilion roof at the 1st Central County Ground in Hove, East Sussex. The Competitions
There are a number of competitions played at the 1st Central County Ground – men’s, women’s, domestic, international… Here’s a brief overview of the key competitions.
County Championship Division 2
County Championship
The traditional county cricket competition which has been in place since 1890. The 18 clubs representing the traditional countries of England & Wales comprise 2 divisions with promotion and relegation. The winner being the team with most points in Division 1.
Vitality T20 Blast
Each team has a single innings with a maximum 20 overs each. 18 first-class counties compete across 2 geographical divisions, with the top 4 teams in each qualifying for the play-offs. A knockout format then decides the champions.
Royal London Cup
A limited overs one-day competition with a maximum of 50 overs each. The 18 clubs are split into 2 geographical divisions, played in a round-robin format, with the top 3 teams in each division then qualifying for the knockout stages.
